Gallowaycountryfair.co.uk is our first community project, developed to
promote Dumfries and Galloway’s premier outdoor
event which now attracts over 20,000 visitors over the two day event. Offering a great family day out in the beautiful setting of mature parkland at
Raehills near Dumfries– with a unique collection of main show ring attractions and demonstrations, trade
stands and the Craft and Food marquees, the Fair offers
something for everyone.
It was evident to us, in discussion with the organisers, that the future
success of the Fair could be restricted without a strong web presence and it was
decided that Tourism Doctor would create a website to effectively market the Fair
as a community project which when complete, control was gifted to the
organisers with Tourism Doctor taking the role of technical support.
This
event provides a real ‘showcase’ for southern Scotland from which we can actively
market this wonderful area as well the many outdoor activities there are
available in the hope that we can attract visitors back time and time again.
This
site provides the ability for local businesses to market themselves to a huge
audience not only for one weekend but for the whole year as discerning customers
look for quality activities, services and accommodation.
The
functionality within the site has enabled to show organisers to streamline processes
relative to the show allowing them to concentrate on the development and
ongoing marketing as well as providing the ability to gather vital information online
to assist with the shows continued success.
Gallowaycountryfair.co.uk has quickly established itself with the search engines, getting great results both in terms of hits but also having a huge impact on the number of exhibitors and visitors the Fair now attracts.
“The
new website has undoubtedly given the show real credibility not to mention
driven then physical numbers higher. The various processes that Tourism Doctor
put into place has really assisted with the running of the show and certainly
made many processes and life much easier”
