pounds_-200.jpgOver the course of the last few years the Tourism Doctor network of web portals promoting southern Scotland has continued to attract increasing visitor numbers.

Revenue generated for the region is expected to increase as
Tourism Doctor continue to develope our network of sites and by working closely with service providers, to deliver results.

The addition of our Galloway Forest Park website early in 2010 will only add to these numbers creating another opportunity to raise the profile of this wonderful area.

Continued development and search engine optimisation will assist in increasing the visitor numbers, which in turn will convert into enquiries and most importantly - bookings!

Tourism Doctor's goal has always been to drive enquiries directly to individual businesses and we are certainly not a booking agent. We value the importance of allowing direct contact between the customer and the provider and the benefits that this can bring.

We have however created various procedures that allow us to monitor traffic and enquiries and whilst we are still a relatively young organisation with limited resources compared to national orgainisations, we are proud of our achievements!

  • Our portals now average over 120,000 unique visitors every month.
  • Google has indexed  and ranked more pages of information from our sites than from many of our competitors.
  • There are between 500 and 750 booking enquiry forms submitted via our sites every month.
  • There are approximately 500 telephone enquiries made via our unique 0844 numbers every month.

These are impressive statistics but to get a real perspective of what this equates in terms of revenue for the region, follow this link: Facts and Figures
